Firstly, Avatar 3D, while it wasn’t in engulf-your-head-IMAX size, was awesome. The contextual approach of the 3D to draw you in rather than “LOOK OUT THIS THING IS GOING TO HIT YOU” was fantastic, especially with the shots through windows or of large sets. It actually gave an amazing feeling of being on-set, and worked to further distract from the fact that some 90% of what was on-screen was digitally rendered.
Secondly, flights are booked for Tokyo the first week and a half of April. Sweet!
