Got the word today, the container ship with my stuff arrives on Thursday, and I should get my stuff delivered on the following Tuesday (a bit late due to the holiday weekend, but ah well).

So I get all my books and my bike and stuff back again! Now I just need to do some bookshelf shopping so I have someplace to put it all…

I used Global Ocean Freight (http://www.global-oc.com/). They quoted me a pretty good price, a full grand less than some, and they completely checked out on the not-going-to-rip-you-off lists. They’re not the most communicative (I had to prompt them for more info a couple times), and if you’re not very specific about what you’re moving when you ask for a quote (I just gave them a rough volume), it’s a hassle to get your price reduced to your final volume, so having a box count ahead of time will save you some cash.
Otherwise, they do everything, including door-to-door pickup and delivery, as part of the quote. Also, they’re based in Florida, which would make catching them during business hours a bit easier for you.

        oh nice.
Ive been trying to decide if its worth it to sell everything and rebuy or ship to the EU. So Ill look into their quote and do the math
        thanks!

Ya, I ditched all my furniture, since it’s easy enough to get new furniture and you’re charged by volume rather than weight. I just packed smaller, functional items, and took the opportunity to start fresh. As it was, I think I still kept too much stuff.
