It’s coming

Posted: November 1, 2005 in Uncategorized

I just caught a whiff of the impending holiday season.

In other news, I think I’ve settled on Thailand for my frequent flier miles trip. Probably 2 weeks or so in February, climbing, exploring, what have you around Krabi and/or Koh Phi Phi. Seems it’s dirt cheap and tsunami issues have been and gone.

Now I just need to get my passport…

Ya, lodging for as little as $5 a night? Damn cheap.
Where in Thailand did you go?

      • tokori says:

it really depends what you want to do; climb, dive, get off the tourist path or stay with the masses
last time I was there I went to the krabi province, there are some awesome isolated cliffs there; phuket which is ok if youve never been out of the country much as is kachanaburi, pra nang which has more good climbing, sukhothai is a big temple region (like Ayuthaya). You could spend a full day (or again, two, if you really like temples) in the area zipping around the temples by rented bicycle and visiting the museum . The town itself is fairly small and not overly interesting. ko phi phi, depending on your activities, could easily consume several days. I stayed on one of the more isolated beaches for about 290 baht in a small bungalow up in the trees (shared bath). You can take a boat trip to The Beach (I think it’s supposed to be one of the most touristed places in Thailand), as well as visit some other smaller quaint islands.
also i believe you still need a visa to visit thailand so Id double check that.
where are you flying into? you want to get out of bangkok asap Imo…
again, i can give you more specifics if you have an idea of what kind of trip you want.
Id also recommend cambodia and vietnam they are very friendly and not as overrun with tourist.
