Echo of humanity

Posted: October 14, 2004 in Uncategorized

There’s voyeurism, and then there’s simple observance of humanity. It’s the difference between the cheap thrill of reality TV and the resonance of a love note found on the street. From the latter, you have nothing to go on other than the expression of simple human emotion put down in ink, names without faces echoing a slice of being human. It’s the type of thing that needs no back story, because it’s not about the people who sparked the note; it’s something that we recognize in ourselves, perhaps something we’d forgotten, or perhaps something we hadn’t yet uncovered.
