New toy

Since I’ve somehow managed to put in 6 years at work, they saw fit to reward me for it, and here’s what I chose.

No street mapping features, but damn, it’s cool. It almost makes me want to go out and get lost somewhere. You do however get a distinct “big brother” feeling when just by turning it on, it can tell you exactly where you are, how many satellites you’re talking to, and how fast you’re moving.

You’ve heard about it, read about it, now go do it:

it’s actually quite fun once you get started… trust me on this! My wife thought I was insane when I explained it to her. But after the first time we went out geocaching, she wouldn’t stop bugging me to do it again.
Best of all, it get’s you out to places you may have never known existed and makes for a great picnic outing.
The “big brother” thing is your tinfoil hat talking. Remember, it’s RECEIVING data… not sending it. 😛
